In a significant reshuffle of Tamil Nadu’s top IPS officers, Amanat Mann IPS has been transferred to the state police, marking a major update in leadership roles. This reshuffle is aimed at strengthening law enforcement, enhancing traffic management, and boosting administrative efficiency in major cities across Tamil Nadu.

Chennai Traffic Police Gets New Leadership

As part of the latest rotation, Trichy Police Commissioner A Arun has been appointed Additional Commissioner of Chennai Traffic Police, replacing IGP K Periaiah, who has now taken charge as Coimbatore City Police Commissioner. The move reflects the government’s focus on improving traffic safety and enforcement in Chennai.

Strategic Transfers Across Tamil Nadu Police

Several other key officers have been reassigned to ensure smoother police operations:

  • IGP G Venkatraman, previously of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies CID, is now IGP of the State Police Establishment.

  • IGP R Dhinakaran, formerly IGP of State Administration, has been transferred as IGP of the State Establishment.

  • DIG Sonal V Misra, returning from inter-state deputation, assumes charge as DIG of the Police Training College.

Amanat Mann IPS: Driving Change and Enforcement

A highlight of this reshuffle is the transfer of SP Amanat Mann, an Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, to the Tamil Nadu police cadre. Amanat Mann replaces Nisha Parthiban, SP of the Enforcement Wing. Known for his proactive approach and strong leadership, Amanat Mann IPS is expected to implement innovative policing strategies, strengthen law enforcement, and improve administrative efficiency.
