Vijay’s Iftar Event Criticized by Muslim Organization

Tamil actor Vijay is facing criticism after hosting an Iftar event in Chennai last Friday. A Muslim organisation, the Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath, has filed a complaint against him at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office, saying the event was disrespectful to the Muslim community.

What the Complaint Says

According to Syed Kous, treasurer of the Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath:

  • People who were drunk or had no connection to Ramzan fasting were allowed into the event.

  • The event was badly organised and hurt the sentiments of fasting Muslims.

  • Vijay’s foreign security guards were rude and treated attendees like cows.

  • Vijay did not apologise or show regret for what happened.

“We are not doing this for publicity. We just want to make sure this doesn't happen again,” said Syed Kous.

About the Event

The Iftar party was hosted by Thalapathy Vijay at the YMCA Grounds in Royapettah, Chennai. Vijay was seen wearing a skull cap, joining prayers, and having food with attendees. Pictures and videos from the event went viral on social media.
