Israel-Hamas Conflict Day 5 LIVE Updates | Israeli Military Reports Elimination of Over 1,000 Gaza I

President Joe Biden is swiftly sending his top diplomat to Israel in a critical mission aimed at demonstrating unwavering U.S. support following major terrorist attacks orchestrated by Hamas militants. The State Department announced this on Tuesday, with Secretary of State Antony Blinken scheduled to depart on Wednesday and expected to arrive in Israel on Thursday.

As the conflict escalates, Israeli troops have been engaged in clashes with more than 1,000 Palestinian gunmen who infiltrated from Gaza. These incursions began over the weekend and have prompted Israeli forces to reinforce all communities within the country as hostilities extend to other fronts, according to the military's statement on Wednesday. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesperson, highlighted that among the targets destroyed in Gaza during the Israeli counter-offensive was an advanced aircraft tracking system.

Meanwhile, President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu engaged in a phone call on Tuesday, focusing on discussions regarding U.S. military support for Israel in the wake of the attacks carried out by Hamas. They have agreed to continue their dialogue in the coming days, as conveyed by the White House.

In the latest operational update from the Israeli Defense Forces, it was reported that more than 1,000 Israelis have tragically lost their lives in the ongoing conflict with Hamas, surpassing the previous count of 900 casualties. Additionally, over 2,800 Israelis have been injured, and the IDF has struck 2,294 Hamas targets, as per an update at 10:00 pm (1900 GMT) on Tuesday. In contrast, Gaza officials have reported that at least 900 people have been killed on their side. The situation remains highly volatile and concerning, with efforts to reach a resolution ongoing.
